The company
We build the thing itself
The Big Data Company builds enterprise data infrastructure without the enterprise friction. Some of it is proprietary and standardised, like the site-scoring models behind IRIS; some is bespoke, like anonymising millions of documents for local government, recognising storefronts from imagery, or designing the spatial algorithms that read a retail network. IRIS is where that work is packaged for retail and QSR expansion teams: the same models, made usable by the person who owns the decision.
That is also why we are careful about which correlations we trust. The ones that break the moment the economy shifts are not worth building an enterprise product on.
Where we are
Utrecht Science Park
Princetonlaan 6, Utrecht. Independent, European by design, with IRIS used across 26 countries.
What we build
The model, not a wrapper
Proprietary site-scoring models and custom spatial infrastructure, built in-house.
100+
local signals per forecast
How we work
Small, senior, research-led
The engineers who build the models are the people you talk to.
15+ yrs
spatial data science
Why teams stay
Forecasts that hold up
Every forecast ships with its nominal 80% interval, and the model is validated on stores it never saw.
95%
of deployed models still in production. Not a model-accuracy claim
IRIS is one product of a wider data science and engineering practice. More about The Big Data Company.
